Halocarbon MT -3I grease is made with a polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE) thickening agent in a polychlorochlorotrifluoroethylene (PCTFE) base oil. In addition, molybdenum disulfide and a proprietary rust inhibitor are added for improved performance. This inert grease is ideal for valves, seals and gears in service with high pressure oxygen, chlorine, hydrogen peroxide and many other aggressive chemicals.
Halocarbon MT-3I grease is also designed for use as an inert pipe sealant or inert thread dope in high pressure air or oxygen environments. It has been tested by NASA at their Marshall Space Flight Center in Huntsville, Alabama. It passed the NASA liquid oxygen (LOX) impact requirements of Test 13B of NASA Standard 6001 at a pressure of 10,000 psi.
